TRAVEL WRITING – Becky Linhardt, MTWA
A member of Midwest Travel Writers Association since 2004, my writing has earned prestigious Mark Twain Awards, most recently in 2011 – Second Place, Short Copy. Since 1999 my specialty has been regional travel in the Midwest, specifically the states of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and nearby West Virginia and Tennessee. In the resume section below you will find links to a variety of recent stories.
STATE At the May 19, 2012 semi-annual meeting of the NFPW/Ohio Professional Writers in Columbus, Ohio awards were presented to the winners of their annual writing competition. I received FIRST PLACE – Specialty Articles, Travel.
NATIONAL As a First Place award winner for the state of Ohio my submission was forwarded to the NFPW national competition where it won THIRD PLACE – Specialty Articles, Travel to be awarded at the September convention of NFPW in Scottsdale, AZ.

Educated in communications and the visual arts, I find that I work/design with words. I am a successfully published writer with experience in the travel and leisure markets and an interest in a variety of other business areas. My writing projects are organized, easy to read, and communicate effectively – clever and fun, too when appropriate to the project.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
No-Obligation Consultation
After an initial no-charge, question and answer session, I will share my ideas and we will discuss finances. Once approved, we will sign a simple letter of agreement that outlines responsibilities, time frames, and payment.
Terms
Each job is unique and a quote will be made at the consultation.
Short-term assignments (2 weeks or less) can be quoted as flat rate.
Longer projects may warrant billing at hourly rates.
One-third of the contracted amount will be due up front. The balance is to be paid: at a negotiated midpoint and then the final payment at the completion of the project.
Revisions
Two rounds of revisions are included in any contracted price.
If additional revisions are requested they will be billed at an hourly rate.
Prices quoted are for copy only.
Additional services may be billed separately.

The Cincinnati Enquirer Although I had been a regular contributing writer to the Cincinnati Enquirer (1999-2011 usually 20 plus stories a year), the Gannett IT systems archive only for 60-90 days so only very recent links that were active and shown here. In 2011 the Cincinnati Enquirer began to use mostly wire service travel stories and only two of my travel stories were published last year- both are now archived. At this time, February 2012, no travel stories are being published in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
