Snow in the Valley – Oil on canvas – 48″w x 24″h x 1 1/2″d

2012 My inspiration was the view from Manor Lane in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to the confluence of the Little Miami and Ohio Rivers.  The view is generally so peaceful and I have seen it many times in fog so I reflected on how it would look in a soft falling snow event. The painting is more white than blue. In fact, the pale colors are lavendar and green but I continue to be challenged bycameras sthat seem to dislike the subtlties of white and pale color. I will try again and post anew if I succeed in getting something closer to the truth. See the original at Malton Art Gallery.
