If I had to describe myself with one word it would be artist - a visual artist and an artist with words. My artwork is included in Ohio Online Visual Arts Registry. I'm working with various galleries in the Midwest to promote my oil paintings and abstract light photography.

Delta Queen Hotel – Chattanooga

Savoring the Riverboat Life

 © Becky Linhardt 2011

You can enjoy the romance of riverboat travel by booking a night or two on the historic riverboat that is a National Historic Landmark. Although the Delta Queen no longer cruises the inland waterways, the recent change of ownership means that it is safely berthed in Chattanooga for years to come. The fate of this historic riverboat had been in question earlier this year.

A real steamboat, the Delta Queen still charms with elegant décor, polished brass, stained glass, fine woods and plush comfort.  For history, ask to join a group tour.  For fun, head to the upper deck Texas Lounge to admire the beautiful mahogany bar and savor the sweeping views of the Tennessee River and the mountains beyond.

The adventures of the river life can still be enjoyed while berthed at the Coolidge Park Landing on Chattanooga’s North Shore.  Upstream you can watch the natural patterns of river life as egrets and herons fish from the safety of Audubon-protected Maclellan Island Nature Preserve.  Downstream the city skyline beckons.  You can claim a rocking chair to watch a sunset or moonrise; see boaters and kayakers pass by or rent a kayak and join a group from Outdoor Chattanooga located in nearby Coolidge Park to explore this beautiful section of the Tennessee River.  While in the area be sure to visit the extraordinary fresh water exhibitions at the Tennessee Aquarium and take an amazing ride on the River Gorge Explorer.
