If I had to describe myself with one word it would be artist - a visual artist and an artist with words. My artwork is included in Ohio Online Visual Arts Registry. I'm working with various galleries in the Midwest to promote my oil paintings and abstract light photography.

Doo Dah Parade – Columbus

Humor Helps – Freedom of Expression

© Becky Linhardt 2011

What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than with a parade that encourages freedom of expression? Anyone can participate.  Groups generally form around a humorous or witty theme. The only rule is that any politician (can’t seem to keep them away from public events, especially in election years) who wants to be in the Doo Dah Parade MUST wear a funny nose or goofy outfit. – and they do!

The DooDah Parade starts at the west side of Goodale Park, winds through Victorian Village and heads down High Street in the Short North Arts District.  The artistic types can be very creative and stingingly satirical when it comes to political situations – local or national.

You never know what you will see, or experience, so mark your calendar for Monday, July 4th, 2011 @ 1:00 p.m. for the 28th Annual Doo Dah Parade!
