Looking beyond the already rich arts traditions within our region, Cincinnati photographers, gallery owners, museums and other public institutions have organized an expansive event related to the fine art of imaging – FOTOFOCUS. With a multiple week regional series of exhibitions, events, and lectures at more than 70 venues at major museums, galleries and universities, FOTOFOCUS is setting a high standard with the inaugural program – scheduled to be a biennial arts powerhouse.

Scheduled for the month of October, with some exhibitions extending to the end of the year, the diversity of images and photographic styles is astounding. Most exhibitions can be viewed FREE of charge at some point during the month and public bus tours of Cincinnatiart galleries have been organized. FOTOFOCUS has attracted and is a sponsor for Continuum, the 2012 Society of Educators Regional Conference. On the national level, attention is being generated with a New York Times insert and by the high quality of the images, the reputation of the photographers, and curiosity about the arts scene in Cincinnati.
